It's erroneous to divorce belief from behavior...

>>>"Knock, knock, knockin' on Heaven's Door."<<<
Jesus did say, "Be ready for you know not the hour which I come" but he also said, that as we feed the hungry and clothe the naked we are doing it as unto Him. To neglect helping people in this life, to even step on people for our own gain, this is utterly contrary to truth of Scripture and a primary reason the church has been rejected as a source of enlightenment. It is all very sad.Ed Newmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12703797864648081829noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9146215066182995239.post-10154910709275610522008-10-31T12:17:00.000-05:002008-10-31T12:17:00.000-05:00>>>>>>>>Yes, it is possibl...>>>>>>>>Yes, it is possible to overcome, but are we willing to pay the price to get there? It might be a higher price than we originally expected and, perhaps flippantly, paid lip service to.

Well, there are sects of Christians who say that Jesus already paid the price, so they don't have to.
They grab whatever they can get, by whatever means, stepping on whosoever necessary, in this world, while simultaneously following John 3:16 to the letter: That is: They are the "whosoevers who believe in Him (Jesus)", and who joyously *claim* "everlasting life", in return for their belief.
In so doing, they've "doubled down", so-to-speak, and they have gambled their very souls -- on a weird combination of hypocrisy and faith.
"Blasphemy against the Spirit", is what I call it.
"Neither hot, nor cold."
"Knock, knock, knockin' on Heaven's Door."
Not to knock Christianity, by the way. There are the same types in all religions.
I assume, but don't know, that they will all eventually come to the same end.LEWagnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12438484007896207869noreply@blogger.com
