I thought it poignant and quite a striking way to fade out...
As for highlights, there are too many good ones to slim it to just a few, but for sure Copper Kettle and the two versions of Time Passes Slowly are there. I loved his version of Tattle O'Day as well as Thirsty Boots... Where does one stop when making a highlights list off this package? Thanks for sharing.
e.Ed Newmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12703797864648081829noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9146215066182995239.post-86913380432853863972013-09-11T21:10:23.239-05:002013-09-11T21:10:23.239-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Ed Newmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12703797864648081829noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9146215066182995239.post-71496369841046048132013-09-11T20:44:38.091-05:002013-09-11T20:44:38.091-05:00Love your words Ennyman. Love the alternative line "I contemplated everything, or at least I tried." Also have you noticed that after the final line of the song i.e. "that little Minnesota town", Dylan starts strumming a very similar rift to that of "North Country Blues". Fascinating.
Other highlights for me are:
"Pretty Saro" with Dylan in the "Nashville Skyline" voice - reminds me of "Handsome Molly.
The two versions of "Time Passes Slowly"
The stripped down version of "Copper Kettle".
And the fact that Dylan was still experimenting with differeing versions of "House Carpenter" and "Only a Habo" in 1971.DamianBalassonenoreply@blogger.com
