The question is: what is it teaching?" ~Nicholas JohnsonA movie that I enjoyed immensely was the Trekky spoof film Galaxy Quest with Tim Allen, among others. What's hilarious is that these people from an alien galaxy were watching reruns of Star Trek and thinking it was something akin to the History Channel. They thought Captain Kirk & crew were heroes who had truly been rescuing the universe from evil.
I do not know what real aliens would think of our television programming, but I stumbled on a website that does show how far into outer space our television programs are being projected. Essentially, by following this link you will come to a chart that carries the following caption: If extraterrestial civilizations are monitoring our TV broadcasts, then this is what they are currently watching.
