Twin Ports Arts Happenings for January: It's All Good

"Open Exposure" --Ed Newman
2018 is off and running. If you're a Northlander, you have no doubt noticed we're in the middle of a cold snap. It is what it is.

Let's cut to the chase. Here are some visual arts happenings to consider for the month of January. If you've not yet experienced Chance (Kathy McTavish) in the Sax Gallery at the Tweed, find a way to get there. Recommended: go while the days are short, and take it in as it gets dark. While there be sure to catch Modern(ism), and everything else they have on display this month. IN ADDITION, through January 14 there is a special exhibit of Tweed Staff Picks from the Tweed collection. Check it out.

VERY IMPORTANT REMINDER
With the DAI Member Show just around the corner, make sure your DAI Membership is up to date so you can contribute a piece to the show later this month. Select a piece that you have created in the past year and bring it to the Art Institute after the middle of this month, January 17 to 19.

Special Shout Out for CPL IMAGING
Scan your work save it for posterity.

Blue Van Gogh
Many artists are aware of the process of Giclee reproduction. Like many things in life there are various levels of quality, and in reproducing art it's no different. Unless I'm mistaken, I believe Jeff Frey and CPL Imaging have the best scanning equipment north of the Twin Cities. They also have long experience in the printing, use the highest caliber paper and other substrates and take the very best care of your originals.

I am guessing that some artists sell work that they wish they'd kept or had a copy of. By means of high rez scanning you can have a remarkable file for future reproduction. Some of their customers show and sell their prints all over the world. Check out their services and prices at cplimaging.com

LIMITED TIME OFFER
When you purchase a Jeffrey T. Larson print you help Great Lakes Academy of Fine Art. Details here.
