Northland Galleries Celebrate the New Ancient Cedars Trail

Margie Helstrom
A new nature trail recently opened within the Tower, Minnesota city limits that gives hikers access to pristine old growth cedar forests. In conjunction with the opening of the Ancient Cedars Trail, four Northland art galleries will be hosting a multimedia collaboration by regional artists whose work is designed to increase awareness for preserving and protecting critical habitat within the Ancient Cedars Trail.

The exhibit consists of paintings, textiles, and other art forms. It will include a unique artist collaborative concertina style book sourced from artist sojourns through the stand of 100-plus acres of old growth upland White Cedar dating back to about 1880 in Tower,

Linda Glisson
The participating artists in this moveable feast for the eyes include Jim DeVries, Wendy Rouse, Pamela Davis, Jordan Gawboy, Nancy Ensley, Louise Laakso Lundin, Jeff Argir, Linda Glisson, Margie Helstrom, Nan Stubenvoll and Sue Rauschenfels.
