Depending on your source, last weekend was the 18th or 19th week of Yellow Vest protests. It was one of the more violent weekends, the saddest part being the destruction that took place on the Champs-Elysees, at the heart of Paris.

It would seem that the French government is run by the same outfit that runs the western media, and that is why the media (both "left" and "right" wings of the bird) keep as quiet as they possibly can, on the issue.
Were such protests going on in Iran or Russia or Venezuela, the western media would cover it nonstop, for sure.
