According to the Association of American Publishers nearly one-fourth of all 2012 book sales were eBooks. That's an astonishing number if you ask me. The actual amount was 23% with an expectation that though the rate of growth has slowed, it will still grow by 41% in 2013.
Ray Bradbury, who wrote Fahrenheit 451, undoubtedly never anticipated the eBook phenomenon. Fahrenheit 451 portrays a future in which firemen burn books because they are illegal. The story was written in response to McCarthy-era censorship. The title comes from the flash point of paper, the temp at which books would ignite on their own.
So, what is the flash point of an eBook? I suppose the modern version of Bradbury's novel could be titled Fahrenheit 392, the temperature at which a typical Kindle or Nook might melt. (I have not tested this theory yet.)

The Red Scorpion is a haunted house story with a supernatural twist. I wrote the book with the aim of creating a compelling adventure that teenage boys would want to read, but would be entertaining for all ages. My secondary reason for writing this novel was because a literary agent said that although I wrote excellent short stories, no major publisher was going to publish a my work until I wrote a novel. Since that's the game, I made the necessary sacrifices to give birth to this book.
Having written three Hollywood screenplays (yes, I had that dream, too) it was easy to create the story in such a manner as to make it easily translated to the silver screen. Feel free to share it with your friends who are producers... or all your friends, for that matter. And reviews on Amazon.com are always welcome.
Enjoy!

I loved Red Scorpian, and I am not nor ever was a teenage boy:) I think it would make a great scary and suspenseful movie for the 13-16 age set, either male or female.
What Hollywood screen plays did you write Ed? Linda Ly
Nothing ever produced, though my second had an agent who said it might have possibilities. The first was called The Extras, based on experience of being an extra in Iron Will. The second was Uprooted: The Ralph Kand Story, which I have now turned into a novella. It is a true story and an amazing one that is also quite gripping. Takes place in Estonia in WW2. The third was a comedy called Love Letters Inc. My favorite concept piece is called Pause Button, based on the idea, "Wouldn't it be great if life had a pause button, so we could everything done that we wanted to do?" Alas... Thanks for the note and good comments on the book.
